Yet another variation of the RAZR, the XX comes with 3.5G HSDPA access, dual cameras for video conferencing, stereo Bluetooth and memory expansion.
Design
Similar in most respects to most of the other RAZRs we've seen, the RAZR XX makes for a pretty hefty flip phone, although we're still suckers for the cool threaded front and the flat metallic keypad. We liked the XX's good-sized, sharp display (256,000 colors), and tapping the keys is a relatively pleasant experience. Otherwise, there's little to tell the XX apart from its fellow RAZRs.
Features
Here's where things get interesting. The XX comes loadad with 3.5G HSDPA access, and the model we saw was running MobiTV software for Cingular, complete with a programming grid -- perfect for some mobile video action. Unfortunately, with all the cell phones blazing away at CES, we couldn't get a strong signal on the show floor to give the video service a whirl. The phone also comes with 1.3-megapixel and VGA cameras, presumably for video calling (no word on how Cingular might implement that feature). Stereo Bluetooth and microSD memory expansion round out the package.

Pros:
Excellent video support; high-speed HSDPA networking; very good call quality; wide range of calling features.
Cons:
Keyboard, and the RAZR design as a whole, are getting tired; browser has trouble with layout on complicated pages; no accessories for multimedia. | | |
