The carrier's new service lets you select five people to always call for free. Plus, Cingular brings podcasts to handsets and a religious mobile app comes to Alltel.

T-Mobile launches myFaves

Recently T-Mobile has given itself a makeover. The carrier ditched spokesperson Catherine Zeta Jones and its slogan "Get more." Now T-Mobile launches a new service that helps you and your loved ones "Stick together," (the company's concise new slogan) with its new myFaves plans. The service, which operates much like Alltel's "My Circle," allows you to choose five phone numbers (even from other carriers and landlines) that you can call as much as you want without losing minutes. The service also works with family plans by letting everyone in the plan pick their own list of five faves. However, myFaves plans will cost you about $10 more a month versus T-Mobiles standard plans. (Source: T-Mobile)

Cingular announces new podcast service

Cingular and Moledeo are teaming up to bring podcasts to Cingular handsets with the Mobilcast service. For about $5 a month (plus the kilobyte charges), the mega-carrier's customers can listen to thousands of podcasts from NPR, "The New York Times," Fox, CBS, and MSNBC. Mobilcast offers podcasts with an array of topics including politics, music, entertainment, and sports that can be downloaded to most Cingular phones. (Source: Cingular)

Alltel introduces new inspirational mobile app

Now you don't have to wait until Sunday to focus on your faith. Alltel is offering a religious mobile BREW app geared toward teens on its Axcess Shop. The Mobile Word features Christian songs, video Bible verses, and audio and video clips from popular churches that concentrate on being entertaining. (Source: Unity In Values)
