Samsung SGH-D900
When: December 2006
Read the full article » As a stylish slider, the Samsung SGH-D900 "Black Carbon" is worth a look, if you can overlook some imperfections. The menu system is very convenient, and the interface in general was a pleasure to work with. The 3-megapixel camera puts the phone ahead of the mass of camera equipped handsets, but the slow interface resulted in many failed shots, and the lack of good software on the PC means this camera phone is not for novices. This may make a great companion for those who want a sidekick to their larger digital SLRs, but don't toss your mid-range digital for this phone. Stereo Bluetooth support is great, but we could do without the tiny document viewer and too-technical e-mail setup. Read the full article » |

Samsung SGH-Z710
When: August 2006
Read the full article » An impressively compact clamshell, Samsung's SGH-Z710 comes equipped with an otherwise good keypad which is marred by the poor layout of the navigational array. Its high-resolution display measures up nicely, as does video calling and the capabilities of its 3.2 Megapixel camera. We can't say we facour its mediocre music player - but with the right price tag and given broad availability, the SGH-Z710 could very well become one of this summer's best-selling handsets. Samsung SGH-E900
When: June 2006 Worth: €400
Read the full article » The Samsung SGH-E900 is an attractive slider with a clean look, a colorful, high-resolution screen and a robust music player, including Bluetooth stereo headphone support and a full 80MB of internal storage. Unfortunately, the fingerprint-prone phone suffers from so-so call quality, and the touch-sensitive music controls gave us headaches. Read the full article » |

Samsung SGH-D870
When: June 2006
Read the full article » The latest addition to Samsung's venerable line-up of slider handsets, the SGH-D870 is a 3 Megapixel camera phone closely related to the previously released SGH-T809 and SGH-D820. Although snapping stills and recording video isn't as straightforward an affair as with other handsets due to the lack of an application-triggering lens cover, the user interface is an intuitive bit of work which graces the usual kind of high-quality screen we've come to expect from Samsung. As for music, suffice to say you should look elsewhere. Read the full article » |

Samsung SGH-Z400
When: June 2006 (Vodafone) - €450
Read the full article » With video calling and 3G support, the slick Z400 makes for a tempting slider, especially if you happen to have a SIM card running on a UMTS network. We were impressed by the phone's top-notch screen, solid call quality and ability to access our POP/IMAP e-mail accounts. However, we wish the phone's messaging interface took full advantage of the generous 2-inch display, and we miss features such as instant messaging and voice calling. Finally, in our tests, the phone stumbled with its relatively weak signal reception. Read the full article » |

Samsung SGH-D820
Score: 80% When: April 2006 Worth: €450
Read the full article » Add an all-black and sleek design to a slider handset and it'll be a definitive hit - and even more so if you throw in an impressively bright and clear high-resolution screen to act as the viewfinder for a Megapixel camera snapping high-quality stills. Still, its superbly slim form factor has led the handset to make some compromises, including a mediocre navigational pad and battery life. For those who don't mind these slight bumps in the road, however, the Samsung SGH-D820 comes highly recommended. Read the full article » |

Samsung SGH-Z150
Score: 67% When: July 2006 Worth: €325
Read the full article » World's slimmest 3G handset or not; Samsung's SGH-Z150 packs plenty of features into its wafer-thin appearances - but could just as well have done without most of them since the handset is mostly good for scheduling and basic messaging. Poor voice quality, no vibrating alert, worse photos, horrid battery life and a straight-jacket memory situation combine to deliver a striking blow to the handset's usability - and a well-earned 'avoid like the plague' recommendation. If you can withstand its 'ooh' factor, that is. Read the full article » |

Samsung SGH-D600E
Score: 70% When: March 2006 Worth: €400
Read the full article » Whilst not the best camera phone we've seen, Samsung's SGH-D600E takes decent images under favourable conditions and also provides a good selection of options through which images can be shared with others - including, unusually, TV out. Furthermore, its superb high-resolution display excels as a viewfinder as well as under all other circumstances, while a solid amount of onboard memory and microSD expansion enable copious storage. The inclusion of EDGE is also noteworthy, as is the handset's excellent reception. Read the full article » |

Samsung SGH-Z540
Score: 74% When: July 2006 Worth: €425
Read the full article » The Samsung SGH-Z540 comes with a laundry list of features, but with the exception of high marks in the departments of calling and messaging doesn't make much of an impression - if one disregards the stylish, slim design and the superb screen, that is. It also does well as a laptop sidekick, but mind the battery life; this one's more for show than for use, regardless of what it's used for. Read the full article » |
