Want to print your photos in a snap? Canon’s newest printers turn your photos into prints in under 60 seconds. All three models are affordable and offer print resolutions previously found only on higher end models.

The Pixma iP1700 is the entry level option. For under $50, you’ll get the ability to quickly print your photos with the push of a button. Other features include fine printing with droplets as small as 2 picoliters, up to 4800 x 1200 DPI, and a rated 55-second print time for a 4 x 6-inch photo. The iP1700 can print photos and documents between 2.13 by 3.39 inches to Legal-sized documents.

Canon’s Pixma iP6310D prints from your memory card or PictBridge-ready camera without a PC. With the iP6310D, a 4 x 6-inch photo will be ready in 60 seconds. Photo outputs, ink droplet size, and resolution are the same as the iP1700 but the iP6310D uses six ink colors (adding photo magenta and photo cyan) and the price bumps up to around $100.

The flagship model, the Pixma iP6700D, rounds out the lineup. All of the features of the iP6310D are increased, including 1-picoliter droplets, 9600 x 2400-DPI resolution, a speedier 47-second print time, and the ability to see your photos on a 3.5-inch color LCD before printing them. If you’re using a Canon camera, your options further increase. Canon-to-Canon connection lets you brighten images and print contact sheets with up to 35 images.

Price and availability

The Canon Pixma iP1700, iP6310D, and iP6700D will be available in July 2006 and priced at $49, $99, and $199.
