Archos' 104 offers all of the features of the iPod nano without the hefty price tag.
Archos’ latest MP3 player (the simply named 104) replaces its previous Gmini XS 100 and hopes to compete with Apple on the one spec where they’re not the best–price. The 104 features 4GB of storage (enough for 4,000 songs), a 1.5-inch color display, support for MP3, WAV, WMA and protected WMA, as well as PlaysForSure music stores like Napster To Go, which let you rent music on a monthly basis. When you’re not listening to your favorite songs, the 104 doubles as a JPEG photo viewer (albeit one with a tiny 1.5-inch screen).
The Archos 104 syncs with Windows Media Player 10 for easy organization and storage of your music collection. Three color choices are available including metallic grey, black, and pink.
Price and availability
The Archos 104 is available in July 2006 and priced at $55.
