New and existing users of the two Windows Mobile handsets are slated to get Microsoft's Messaging and Security Feature Pack later this month.
The update, which allows for immediate syncing of corporate e-mail, calendars, contacts, and tasks, should be available for download beginning June 19, according to Cingular. New 8125 and 2125 handsets will come with the software already installed.
When Microsoft initially unveiled Windows Mobile 5.0 last summer, the new OS didn't include real-time mail delivery; soon afterward, however, the software giant announced the push e-mail update (which includes the Service Pack 2 upgrade to Exchange Server 2003), and it finally arrived in October 2005.
The Palm Treo 700w, which (like the 8125 and 2125) runs Windows Mobile 5.0, got its own version of the Messaging and Security Feature Pack last April.
Now with push e-mail, the Windows Mobile 5.0- and Wi-Fi-packing 8125 smartphone has been making waves since its release earlier this year. How does it stack up to the latest 3G business handsets?
