The E50 rounds out Nokia's range of E series devices with its classic and compact design, focusing heavily on enterprise applications inlcuding VoIP, wireless e-mail, in-device document search and more.
Presenting a lighter and smaller alternative to the E60, E61 and E70 of which Nokia's E series of business phones is currently comprised, the E50 features a design reminiscent of the company's popular 6000 series. Equipped with quad-band GSM, EDGE, Bluetooth 2.0 and USB for connectivity, the handset's high-resolution QVGA display provides access to a number of business-minded applications such as a viewers for Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files as well as a Adobe Acrobat (PDF) viewer and ZIP file management.
With 70 MB of onboard memory and a microSD memory card slot for expansion, users will also be able to search PIM data, messages and stored files either received directly to the phone through 3rd party solutions or synchronized directly from Microsoft Outlook or Lotus Notes. Other highlights include speaker independent voice dialing; a music player; and an optional 1.3 Megapixel camera.
Price and availability
The Nokia E50 is expected to be available during the summer of 2006, and will sell in the €300 to €350 range.

Nokia E61
Score: 79% When: May 2006 Worth: €450
Read the full article » The E61 does what Nokia does best: connects people. Its all-encompassing connectivity setup is exploited in full by a broad line-up of quality messaging, office and browsing applications which run in tandem with a superb screen and more than decent thumbboard. Granted, it's not among the most powerful business phones nor does it fare well in the department of synchronization - but the latter is at long last addressable by several third party solutions. Sprinkle with handy utilities, attention to detail, good battery life and a compact form factor, and you end up with a very solid business phone contender indeed. Read the full article » |

Nokia E70
When: May 2006 Worth: €600
Read the full article » The Nokia E70 definitely succeeds in stepping away from the pack with its unique design, but it falls short with its spotty performance. We enjoyed working with the flip-out keyboard, although we wish that typing on the numeric pad was easier. Productivity applications shine on the E70, not only thanks to the keyboard, but also because of the top-notch software. We were also impressed by the wealth of connectivity options, including Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, the otherwise exemplary Web browser frequently crashed the phone during our tests, and U.S. users of the E70 will be disappointed by the lack of 3G network access.
