BenQ-Siemens P51 hands-on impression
Nearly identical to its P50 predecessor, the BenQ-Siemens P51 improves on the maker's first proper business phone with features including Windows Mobile 5.0, built-in Wi-Fi 802.11b/g and even integrated GPS. Alas, despite these features and snappy performance, the device lacks support for 3G or even EDGE - but at least includes Bluetooth and a top-notch, 2.8-inch touch screen. Its thumbboard is also quite comfortable, but is difficult to use in daylight as its silkscreened keys offer virtually no contrast.
BenQ-Siemens EF91 hands-on impression
Feature-rich at the expense of form, the EF91 is the ugly step child of BenQ-Siemens' new and extended phone family. Equipped as it is with HSDPA and a 3.2 Megapixel camera, it rear-ends much of the competition with good performance across the board, falling short on only a few vital points including design and viewfinder size. To use its camera, users must either opt for the standard open flip mode or the positively diminutive external display; not an ideal scenario for a camera phone. More...
BenQ-Siemens EF81 hands-on impression
It's yet another slim clamshell as BenQ-Siemens rolls out the EF81 - fortunately with a better keypad than the prodigal 'slimshell', the Motorola RAZR. It also boasts a large, bright and otherwise excellent screen, which the multimedia functionality unfortunately fails to exploit fully. 3G is also present, and in combination with Bluetooth offers snappy web browsing on the handset itself as well as for business users. Lastly, its 2 Megapixel camera is affixed in a rather unusual manner which requires users to open or close the handset in order to change views. More...
BenQ-Siemens EL71 hands-on impression
The one that gets the basics right, the tri-band GSM/EDGE EL71 is BenQ-Siemens' slider alibi and impresses with a sizzlingly sharp high-resolution display, comfortable keypad and good looks courtesy of an aluminum-magnesium casing. It's a little short on multimedia functionality with its 1.3 Megapixel camera, but does well in the music department - all at 16.5 mm thick and equipped with Bluetooth and a microSD memory card slot for expansion.
BenQ-Siemens EF51 hands-on impression
For a music phone, the EF51 fails to impress. Although audio quality proved good, the music management capabilities of the handset were distinctly sub-par as compared to other dedicated music phones, while controls were difficult to distinguish and poorly laid out. In fact, the EF51 gives off a rather cheap overall feel, which is further solidified by its cramped display and 1.3 Megapixel camera. Lastly, we can't say we cared much for the push-through solution chosen for the music flip which affixes to the similarly so-so keypad. More...
