Just in time for the Olympics, NEC's new offers up 61 inches of HD ready plasma screen estate with an 870:1 contrast ratio, 160-degree viewing angle - and solid price tag.
Launched alongside 41-inch and 52-inch models in its PlasmaSync series, NEC has unveiled its second largest plasma HDTV to date in the 61RX4. Only surpassed by the company's 84-inch 84VP5/84VM5 models, the 61-inch model features a 160-degree viewing angle coupled with a 870:1 contrast ratio and support for resolutions up to 1080p - albeit through an XGA resolution display.
Seven connectivity options are available in total, including Composite, S-Video, VGA, dual Component and dual HDMI ports. Split-screen and picture-in-picture options are available, with PAL, SECAM, NTSC and ATSC on board - all at a stiff $11,500 USD, with the set immediately available in Europe and the US.
