Road warrior lifesaver or roadkill? MoGo's new MouseBT Bluetooth Mouse isn't quite like other mice, but attempts to make up in fiendish cleverness for what it lacks in features.

Attempting to solve one of the greatest road warrior inconveniences of all time, MoGo has debuted the MouseBT Bluetooth mouse - in and of itself not a novel concept, as demonstrated by among other products Logitech's diNovo Media Desktop - with a unique twist. Unlike other mice, the MouseBT goes into hiding in a PC Card slot when not in use, where it also fully recharges in the matter of an hour to enable further rampant frolics outside its burrow.

Itself the size of a PC Card, the MouseBT relies on the Human Interface Device profile of the Bluetooth protocol, offering a maximum range of up to 10 meters. As far as functionality is concerned, the MouseBT is a fairly basic specimen with only left and right mouse buttons - as could be expected given the restraints posed by its environment. It does, however, conceal a locking kickstand which raises the lower half of the mouse to improve usability.

According to a MoGo spokesperson, the company has refrained from making any battery life claims due to inevitable differences in usage patterns, however said unofficial tests had shown an average battery life in the range of eight hours on a full charge.

To be available worldwide by the end of the first quarter of 2006, the MoGo MouseBT will sell at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $70 USD.
