Equipped with dual lenses, Kodak's new EasyShare V570 combines ultra-wide angle and zoom properties with a large, 2.5-inch viewfinder, 5x optical zoom and 5-Megapixel resolution.
Announced today at the Consumer Electronics Show, Kodak has extended its line-up of EasyShare cameras with the rather unique V570. As the world's first compact digital camera to be equipped with dual lenses, the camera merges the properties of ultra-wide angle and zoom in yet another innovation from the company which begun shipping
its Wi-Fi enabled EasyShare One model late in 2005.
Relying on proprietary Kodak Retina technology, the V570 combines a 23 mm ultra-wide angle lens with a 39-117 mm optical zoom lens to shoot pictures at resolutions of up to 5 Megapixels with a maximum of 5x optical zoom. A panorama mode allows for stitching three pictures together for a 180-degree view, whilst the camera is also capable of recording video at VGA resolution and 30 FPS in MPEG4 format.
Equipped with digital image stabilization technology, the EasyShare V570 also harbours digital red-eye reduction and blurry picture detection as well as 22 different preset scene modes. 32 MB of onboard memory is present alongside an SD/MMC card slot for storage, with a 2.5-inch, 230K pixel LCD viewfinder providing a window to the camera's functionality.
Delivered with a Photo Frame Dock 2 stand for connectivity and charging, the Kodak EasyShare V570 will be available worldwide in late January for a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $400 USD.
