Having carried out the mother of all turnarounds, Motorola's conveyor belts are once again churning handsets with both style and substance; here's our favourite MBLZ.
Motorola Q
A Windows Mobile smartphone that doesn't look like its design was lifted from the mid-1980s? It took Motorola to come up with the superbly sleek Q, which is a shot in the vein of the RAZR - yet with considerably bumped up specifications including a landscape QVGA display, QWERTY thumbboard and Bluetooth. Due for launch this December, the Q also integrates a 1.3 Megapixel and Windows Mobile 5.0 - but mum's the word on its pricing. More...
Motorola RAZR V3x
Essentially the original RAZR on steroids, the V3x maintains the form factor of its popular predecessor yet improves on most aspect of the original. The addition of 3G, for instance, obliterates the speed record of the original RAZR, whilst the camera receives a bump to 2 Megapixel - and a miniSD card slot to boot. Also new is a multi-format media player, and we're pleased to see Bluetooth has been retained. For price and availability, see the Motorola Q. More...
Motorola A1010
Frequently neglected, Motorola also offers a decent line of Symbian OS based smartphones, of which the A1010 is the latest addition to the family tree. Likely to arrive early next year, it takes a back seat to the Sony Ericsson P990 on paper, but still harbours solid specifications including a 2 Megapixel camera, high-resolution display and 3G, as well as a microSD slot for memory expansion. Again, we have no idea what its pricing will be - are you starting to see a trend here? More...
Motorola RAZR V3i
It may not be as impressive as the V3x, but the V3i has something that the V3x doesn't. That's right: iTunes. Although limited to 100 tunes a pop, the V3i is Motorola's second-only iTunes phone after
the ROKR E1, but puts the latter to shame with a 1.23 Megapixel camera, 3G and quad-band GSM. Surprise, surprise; we don't know what it'll cost, but according to Motorola it will hit shelves later this month. Oh, and it has Bluetooth. More...
Motorola E1120
Another handset which has been flying under the radar is the E1120, which is all set to bust onto the scene as Motorola's first 3-Megapixel camera phone - for Europe, at least. Supposedly fitted with an MP3 player with dual stereo speakers and virtual surround sound, we'll do you one better than not know what this 3G-enabled candybar will sell for - we're not even quite sure when it'll be out. Our best guess? Early next year - and as soon as we know, so will you. More...
