The pricing and date of arrival for Motorola's coveted RAZR V3c on Verizon's network is unveiled; the EV-DO enabled clamshell will arrive on shelves barely in time for the holidays.
Assimilating Motorola's
recently announced V3c clamshell, Verizon Wireless today expanded its portfolio with the successor to one of 2005's most sought after handsets. Announced as recently as in early November, the V3c was unveiled alongside
a magenta version of the original RAZR headed for T-Mobile, as well as a version of the same handset tailored for UMTS networks
dubbed the V3i.
Outperforming the UMTS-based V3i and
the previously introduced V3x by a factor of six courtesy of its EV-DO support, the RAZR V3c improves on the original RAZR with features such as a 1.3 Megapixel camera and an MP3 player. Unlike the V3i, however, the V3c does not offer support for Apple's iTunes, a feature which was first brought to Motorola's line-up with the introduction of
the ROKR E1 this September.
Also equipped with Verizon Wireless’ V CAST multimedia service, prospective owners of the RAZR V3c will be able to stream audio and video content on demand to the handset including news, sports clips and other entertainment. Other highlights include Bluetooth support and a 2.2-inch screen, as well as 30 MB of onboard memory and the trademark slim RAZR form factor complete with chemically etched keypad.
Claiming a talk time of up to 180 minutes and standby time of up to 200 hours, the Motorola RAZR V3c will be available from Verizon Wireless on December 12, selling for $200 USD with a two year service agreement.
