One remote to rule them all: the Harmony 360 Universal Remote from Logitech will let Xbox 360 owners control all aspects of their media-happy console - and a slew of other devices.

Logitech today unveiled the latest addition to the company's line-up of Harmony universal remote controls in the Harmony 360 Advanced Universal Remote, tailored specifically for Microsoft's soon-to-be-released Xbox 360 gaming console. The remote, which offers users full control of the entire range of functions provided by the Xbox 360, is also capable of controlling a wide range of other devices.

Sporting an integrated, backlit LCD display, the Harmony 360 revolves around the concept of a single Activity button which brings up a collection of common activities performed by users. Macro functions are pre-loaded and can also be user defined to set a number of devices to a desired state for a typical activity such as watching a DVD or playing games - the latter for which the Harmony 360 naturally has a pre-loaded setting.

The Harmony 360 is capable of controlling the console out of the box, letting users navigate the Xbox 360 interface courtesy of a dedicated set of X, Y, A and B console buttons. These buttons coincide with commands in different Xbox 360 screens for selecting and navigating games, settings, music and media.

After completing an online setup process, Harmony 360 owners will be able to control up to 12 devices through the interface of the LCD display, which is tailored to a user's specific wishes through the setup procedure. According to Logitech, the company supports more than 100,000 different devices from more than 3,000 different manufacturers - a database which is continuously updated.

The Logitech Harmony 360 Advanced Universal Remote will be available in the US in late November for a suggested retail price of $130 USD.
