Amidst the increasing proliferance of widescreen displays, Wacom releases its Intuos3 A5 Wide pen tablet as the company's first widescreen tablet with a 16:10 aspect ratio.
Wacom today announced the Intuos3 A5 Wide, marking the company's very first widescreen tablet at a time when monitors, HDTVs and multi-monitor setups are growing increasingly popular. Aimed at professionals and prosumers in digital imaging, graphic design and video editing markets, the Intuos3 A5 Wide provides an active area of 11 x 6 inches and comes in a 16:10 aspect ratio.
The Intuos3 A5 Wide provides the same features as the Intuos3 pen tablet system, which includes integrated ExpressKeys and Touch Strips. The ExpressKeys are two four-button keypads placed on each side of the tablet which can be customized for any application. The two Touch Strips mimic scroll bars with presets to allow for zooming and scrolling in various applications.
Offering a 5,080 DPI resolution and 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity in both the pen tip and eraser of the Intuos3 Pen and Airbrush, the Intuos3 A5 Wide tablet is able to recognise the tilt angle of a Grip Pen and Airbrush of up to 60 degrees and offers Tool ID, automatically recognising the relevant tool with its individual settings when the pen is brought into contact with the tablet.
Among the input devices compatible with the Intuos3 A5 Wide is Wacom's Intuos3 Art Marker, Intuos3 Airbrush, Intuos3 Classic Pen, Intuos3 Ink Pen and an Intuos3 Mouse. The tablet also comes bundled with Corel Painter Essentials 2, connecting via USB and offering compatibility with Windows 2000/XP/XP64 or later and Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later.
The new Intuos3 A5 Wide is immediately available throughout Europe and in the US, selling for €370 EUR and $390 USD, respectively.
