Originally slated for an
introduction in July, mobile network operator has pushed back the launch of its T-Mobile SDA II smartphone several times. Today, the company stated that it expects the SDA II to launch in time for Christmas alongside several other advanced mobile devices, among them the MDA Vario communicator which was unveiled today.
Although T-Mobile did not reiterate the expected specifications of the SDA II, the company had said in the past that its feature set would be mostly identical with that of its
existing SDA smartphone, although with some exceptions such as a QVGA resolution display and an extended amount of memory.
A music version of the SDA II, the SDA II Music, was originally to be introduced alongside the SDA II according to information made available at CeBIT 2005, where the two devices were first unveiled. This device now appears to have been cancelled, as T-Mobile has made no mention of it since its unveiling.
T-Mobile did not provide any information concerning the expected pricing of the SDA II, which will be available in the German market in time for Christmas.
