One is LCD, the other plasma: meet the W3201C and W5001C, Dell's new widescreen HDTVs for the US market - due out in time for Christmas with friendly price tags.
Expanding its portfolio of flatscreen TVs, Dell has announced the introduction of the LCD based W3201C and plasma based W5001C widescreen HDTVs for the US market. Incorporating built-in HDTV tuners, the two models both offer 16:9 aspect ratios and dual HDMI ports and are available with detachable speakers.
The W3201C will be the flagship of Dell's LCD line with its 32-inch size and 1000:1 contrast ration, sporting a 16 ms response time and dual tuners. Without its bundled stand, this model weighs in at 37 pounds.
Meanwhile, the W5001C assumes its place as the flagship of Dell's plasma line-up, sporting an 8000:1 contrast ratio and weight of 97 pounds.
Priced at $3,800 USD and $1,800 USD, respectively, the Dell W3201C and W5001C will according to Dell ship in the US later this fall.
