Initially slated for a launch in the first quarter of 2006, Motorola has confirmed that its launch of the company's first Windows Mobile based smartphone to integrate a thumbboard, the Motorola Q, will be moved up to December. Taking design cues from Motorola's RAZR handset, the Q boasts a slim form factor and is powered by Microsoft's Windows Mobile 5.0 platform adhering to an unusual landscape screen form factor of 320 x 240 pixels.
Other highlights of the device includes its 1.3 Megapixel, backlit thumbboard and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as a miniSD card expansion slot for the sole purpose of extending memory.
