palmOne today announced that the company's Treo 650 communicator will be available to subscribers of mobile network operators Orange and Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM) in March. In addition to being carried in Italy by TIM, Orange will also carry the Treo 650 in the UK, France and Switzerland. Also, the Orange edition of the Treo 650 will support the mobile network operator's implementation of push-to-talk, dubbed 'Talk Now'.
The GSM edition of the Treo 650 will support quad-band 850/900/1800/1900 MHz, as well as GPRS and EDGE for data connectivity. Other features, such as a 320 x 320 pixel TFT display, wholly non-volatile memory, Bluetooth, an SDIO capable SD/MMC Card expansion slot and integrated 0.3 MP camera remain identical to offerings from mobile network operator Sprint PCS in the U.S.
Neither Orange nor Telecom Italia Mobile disclosed pricing for the Treo 650, however are expected to do so closer to commercial availability.
