Fujitsu's oh-so-ultraportable LifeBook P7000 series receives a minor refresh: a new 1 GHz Celeron M processor is added, and $200 is subtracted.
Giving its much-acclaimed LifeBook P7000 series a facelift, Fujitsu has announced a price cut on the starting price of the series to $1,499 USD, down from $1,699 USD previously. Also, the company is adding a new 1 GHz Celeron M 373 processor to the list of options, which previously only included a 1.1 GHz Pentium M 733 and a now-removed 1.2 GHz Pentium M 753 processors.

Models currently available in the P7000 series include the P7010 and P7010D, which differ mainly with concern to processor and wireless options. Offering a combination of Wi-Fi 802.11b/g and a 1.1 GHz Pentium M 733 processor, the P7010 stands back to the P7010D with its Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g support and choice of either 1.1 GHz Pentium M 733 or 1 GHz Celeron M 373.
Shared features include a 10.6" Crystal View TFT display, a 56k V.90 modem and 10/100 Base-Tx Ethernet, two USB 2.0 ports, one IEEE 1394 connector, a dual Memory Stick/SD Card slot, one Compact Flash slot and one PC Card Type II slot.

Weighing in around the 3 pound mark, the P7000 series offers 40, 60 and 80 GB hard drive sizes, and from 256 to 512 MB RAM, as well as optional biometric security courtesy of a fingerprint reader. A built-in modular expansion bay allows for either a DVD/CD-RW combo drive, a modular Multi-Format DVD Writer or a second battery.
Available in configurations ranging from $1,499 USD to $2,099 USD, the Fujitsu LifeBook P7010 and P7010D are now available throughout North America.
