Napster today announced that Napster To Go, the first portable music subscription service for the U.S. market, is available for users of the new Audiovox SMT5600 smartphone from AT&T Wireless. For a monthly fee of $14.95 USD, owners of the smartphone will be able to download and play an unlimited number of full-length songs on the go. The SMT5600 will also support individual tracks purchased by Napster subscribers or downloaded a la carte from the Napster Light store.
The Audiovox SMT5600 is powered by Microsoft's Windows Mobile 2003 SE for Smartphone platform, and comes with 28.5 MB of internal memory which can hold up to 6 songs. For additional storage, owners can purchase miniSD expansion cards, currently available in maximum capacities of 512 MB.
