pending entry into the handheld market in conjunction with Microsoft's launch of Windows Mobile 2003, JVC originally planned to introduce two multimedia-oriented Pocket PC models with powerful specifications. Shortly after its announcement, however, JVC cancelled the introduction of the two models, supposedly in favour of next-generation models already in development at the time.

Now it appears that JVC has halted all further development of PDA products, as a spokesperson today confirmed to infoSync World that the manufacturer has postponed its plans for the handheld market 'indefinitely'. In doing so, JVC joins Gateway, which also announced it would introduce a Pocket PC at the same time as JVC, but later dropped its plans citing a limited launch window and company-wide reorganization.">

JVC handheld entry 'indefinitely postponed'By Jørgen Sundgot, Wednesday 20 October 2004
Having first announced its pending entry into the handheld market in conjunction with Microsoft's launch of Windows Mobile 2003, JVC originally planned to introduce two multimedia-oriented Pocket PC models with powerful specifications.

In doing so, JVC joins Gateway, which also announced it would introduce a Pocket PC at the same time as JVC, but later dropped its plans citing a limited launch window and company-wide reorganization.
