Palm OS 6 Cobalt gets Bluetooth 1.2 nod

Bluetooth 1.2 is fully backward compatible with Bluetooth 1.1 devices, but offers better compatibility in the increasingly crowded 2.4 GHz band. Wi-Fi technologies such as 802.11b and 802.11g, some cordless phones, and even microwave ovens also operate in the same spectrum, and Bluetooth 1.2 uses a technique known as Adaptive Frequency Hopping (AFH) to reduce "bumping elbows" with those technologies in order to improve performance.">

Palm OS Cobalt, nee Palm OS 6, has gotten the stamp of approval from the Bluetooth Qualification Program for Bluetooth 1.2. PalmSource originally licensed a Bluetooth 1.2 stack from Extended Systems in June of this year, and that stack has now been certified Bluetooth 1.2 compatible. As a result, any Palm OS Cobalt devices with Bluetooth are like to be Bluetooth 1.2 compatible, whenever Cobalt devices begin appearing.
