NTT DoCoMo has announced that they are extending their international roaming service for wireless LAN service to 33 countries. The service is the result of a partnership with the iPass network, a US-based connectivity service provider. The 33 countries span North and South America, Europe, Asia, the Pacific Rim, and Africa, and include public hot spots, 82 airports, and over 3,000 hotels. However, iPass access points in Japan itself will not be included. The roaming service will cost 30 yen per minute (about $0.27 USD) over and above basic monthly or daily fees.
