Amongst HP's new products are such handhelds as the powerhouse hx4705, the mobile media-oriented rx3115, rx3415 and rx3715, as well as the low-end rz1715 and rz1710.
HP has released over a half-dozen new iPAQ models of handheld, targeting a wide range of markets from entry-level to media-centric to on-the-go wireless users.

The new top of HP's lineup is the iPAQ hx4705, which boasts a 4-inch 640 x 480 VGA color display backed by an Intel PXA270 processor running at 624 MHz, tying the Dell Axim X30 Advanced 624 MHz for fastest handheld processor to date. It offers 128 MB of Flash ROM and 64 MB of RAM, which after system software is taken into account offers 135 MB of user-available memory. Connectivity options include both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi built-in, as well as dual card slots for Secure Digital and Compact Flash. It also offers a touch pad in place of a directional pad, with what HP refers to as a "mouse-like cursor". All of those features are backed by an 1800 mAh Lithium Ion battery.

Dubbed "Mobile Media Companion", the rx-series includes the iPAQ rx3115, iPAQ rx3715, and iPAQ rx3415. All three models include specialized software for connecting to and manipulating video and audio files wirelessly on a supported desktop system. They run on more traditional 240 x 320 QVGA color displays, and offer both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity as well as an SD card slot and a high-powered infrared port. The rx3115 and rx3715 both sport a 400 MHz processor. The rx3115 offers 64 MB of RAM (only 56 MB of which is user-accessible, to be split between active and storage memory). The rx3715 ups that to 152 MB and also adds a 1.2 megapixel camera as well. The rx3415 is the lower-end of the trio, sporting most of the same features as the rx3115 but with a 300 MHz processor.
HP's new low-end is the rz-series, consisting of the iPAQ rz1715 and the iPAQ rz1710. The rz1715 carries the same software package as the rx-series, but offers only a 203 MHz processor, 32 MB of RAM, and lacks Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connectivity. The rz1710 uses the same basic design as the 1715, but leaves out the multimedia software to make it a generic basic handheld. Both include an SD slot and IR port as their only connectivity options.
Naturally all of the above handhelds run Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition. HP's seventh new device, however, the iPAQ h6300, runs Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC Phone Edition in light of its emphasis on connectivity. That emphasis includes quad-band GSM/GPRS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi all integrated into the device, in addition to a VGA camera, SD card slot, and other normal high-end features.
Pricing and availability were not available for any of the new models.
