Antepo has announced what it terms an Enterprise Instant Messaging (EIM) system for the RIM Blackberry communicator, built as an add-on to its client-server IM offering for the Blackberry. The new client supports both basic standard IM systems available today, XMPP (backed by the World Wide Web Consortium and used by the Jabber protocol) and SIP/SIMPLE (a more central-server-centric system favored by the current IM networks). The Antepo server also offers built-in security and archiving functionality, and with the new client allows users access to their IM accounts while roaming via Blackberry. Pricing information was not available.
