Siemens has cobranded their newest phone with F1 team West McLaren Mercedes. Gentlemen, start you SX1s!
Siemens latest phone, the SX1, is a new co-development venture with West McLaren Mercedes, the Formula 1 racing team. Designed to appeal to racing fans who like style, the limited edition phone offers a novel design combined with a solid feature set.
The SX1 measures 109 x 56 x 19 mm and weighs in at 116 grams, and is rated for 4 hours talk time or 200 hours standby. Besides usual phone functionality in an unusual button layout, the SX1 includes a VGA camera that is also capable of taking short video clips at 65k colors. On the audio side, there is support for both MP3 playback as well as a built-in FM radio. There is an MMC slot for storing additional music and pictures, and the phone comes with a 32 MB card to start off.

Naturally as a branded phone, it comes with several West McLaren Mercedes custom applications and designs, such as a race car start up animation and having the original West McLaren Mercedes racing sound as the default ring tone. Extra menu items include F1 track information, team news, and a picture gallery of members of the racing team.
The phone is available from Siemens for 649 Euros for a limited time.
