CSI Wireless has released a new GSM/GPRS phone, but it's not mobile. The 410 Series is the latest fixed wireless phone on the market.
CSI Wireless has announced a new fixed wireless phone based on GSM/GPRS available world-wide, known as the 410 Series.

The 410 Series will be available in multiple versions, one 850 / 1900 MHz GSM/GPRS version for the Americas and one 900 / 1800 MHz GSM/GPRS version for Asia and EMEA. It will also be available in multiple languages. In addition to voice capability, the phone will also include a customizable user interface, text messaging support, Internet connectivity over GPRS for email, and hands-free operation. Common phone features such as the ability to block outgoing calls, a 250 entry address book, speed dial, redial, and one-touch emergency dialing are all available via a large back-lit display. There is also a backup battery rated for about 30 minutes, ample time for calls to emergency services in case of a power outage or other emergency.
Fixed wireless phones are physically designed like conventional land-line phones and plug into a wall outlet for power. However, rather than a landline connection they include a cellular radio for connecting to a cell tower. That allows for more in-house portability, as well as far greater ease of installation, especially in less developed and rural areas which do not yet have an extensive landline infrastructure. The savings on the "last mile" of copper wire to the home or business can be quite significant in areas where landlines are unreliable, unaffordable, or simply do not exist.
CSI has been selling TDMA-based fixed wireless phones rebranded as the Motorola FX800t for some time. The 410 Series may be appearing under one or more rebranded names in different markets.
