Having recently opened its doors for the summer season, Danish amusement park Tivoli Gardens is finding a new - and rather practical, many parents will claim - use for Bluetooth within its grounds: tracking runamuc children. One of Europe's most visited amusement parks, Tivoli Gardens is located in Copenhagen and operates its Child Spotter Service with equipment from BlueTags.
Aiming to make parents spend less time worrying about the whereabouts of their children, parents rent a wristband tag for their children and register with their mobile phone number. Should a child wander off or get lost, the parents merely have to send an SMS requesting information on the particular tag. Shortly thereafter they receive an answer back specifying the location of the child, allowing them to move quickly in the right direction to become reunited.
