Users to laugh at Cingular comicsBy Larry Garfield, Thursday 15 April 2004
Cingular Wireless and FunMail have teamed up to offer push delivery of popular daily comic strips to Cingular customers. For a one-time $2.99 USD fee, Cingular customers can pick and receive up to 50 supported comic strips. Subscribers can scroll through each comic at their leisure, save their favorites to view again later, and also rate comics. The top-rated comics are available to the Cingular Comics community at any time.

FunMail's Mobile Comics Network server formats each comic for the Cingular wireless devices, optimizing the comic to a user's screen size. Additional comics can be downloaded via the web or directly from handsets. Supported phones include the Motorola V400, Motorola T720, and Nokia Series 60 and Series 40. Additional comic-compatible phones will be launched throughout the year.

Offered comic strips include, among others, Beetle Bailey, Dick Tracy, Rose Is Rose, Hagar the Horrible, Baby Blues, Zits, Animal Crackers, Bound & Gagged, Los Kitos, Broom-Hilda, Herb and Jamaal, Mother Goose & Grimm, Nancy, Brenda Starr, and, of course, Dilbert.
