Nokia's new Tri-band handset targets fashion- and feature-minded young professionals, coupling Java, a full featured web browser, and MMS in one small and expandable package.
Nokia today expanded its range of traditional phones with an introduction of a the new Nokia 3120 phone. The 3120 uses a traditional "phone only" design, but includes features generally found only on higher-end handsets.

Measuring 101 x 42.6 x 42.6 mm and weighing in at 87 grams, the Tri-band (GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) 3120 is a traditional candybar design, sporting a 128 x 128 pixel color display capable of displaying 4096 colors over 5 lines of text. Data transmission is provided by GPRS, and the included web browser supports XHTML over WAP 1.2, including support for JPEG and PNG images. Other high-end features include both SMS and MMS support, polyphonic ring tones, and animated screen savers. It also includes OMA forward lock Digital Rights Management (DRM).
The phone comes with built-in Java support using the MIDP 1.0 profile, and includes several pre-installed games Java support including several pre-installed games, including like Snake EX2, Beach Rally and Nature Park. Additional Java programs are downloadable over WAP. To better support gamers, the front-mounted D-Pad supports 8-way navigation.
Nokia has also released a number of accessories, which it bills as "enhancements", specifically targeted at the new handset. These include the Nokia Fun Camera, a stand-alone VGA camera with its own viewfinder, flash, and power supply and the Nokia Radio Headset which supports stereo FM radio. All accessories use Nokia's Pop-Port for connectivity.
The Nokia 3120 will be available in the Asia-Pacific market in mid-April in multiple colors.
