Microsoft have released a Smartphone version of their navigation program, Pocket Streets, joining the Pocket PC edition.
Microsoft have finally released a version of their Pocket Streets mapping application for their Smartphone platform.
The program, offers mapping functionality including address location, points of interest, customizable push-pins and maps covering the USA, Canada and Western Europe. Pocket Streets can work in conjunction with Microsoft's desktop companions, MapPoint, Streets & Trips and AutoRoute.
Advanced features include partial address finding, including company names, and the application also allows users to browse their maps looking for points of interest, including ATMs, restaurants, hotels, attractions and other useful items.
Items can be searched for by word, returning a list of locations that contain the word. Microsoft suggest uses for this including locating particular types of restaurant.
Pocket Streets for Smartphone requires 350 KB of storage space on the device, with extra space occupied by maps. All models of Smartphone are compatible with the program, which is priced at $24.95 USD.
