Powered by Intel's Bulverde processor, the P50 will offer quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz connectivity, complete with GPRS Class 10. Multimedia-conscious users will be particularly pleased to find the 2.8", 18-bit TFT screen of the P50 offering up 262,144 colours, while its integrated 1.3 megapixel camera represents a first for WAN handhelds.

Furthermor, the P50 also offers support for phone-centric technologies such as MMS, WAP 2.0 and J2ME MIDP 2.0, whilst claiming talk and standby times of up to 5 and 200 hours, respectively. These features have been crammed into a package measuring a minute 12 x 6 x 2 cm, at a weight of approximately 150 g.

BenQ representatives declined offering further information concerning the expected pricing and availability of the P50, due to the product still being in the early stages of development.
