BT500, BT800 and BT110 offer evolution, high-end performance and extended battery life, respectively.
Jabra, makers of the popular FreeSpeak BT200 and BT250 Bluetooth headsets, have launched three new models at CeBIT.
 | Ill: Jabra BT800
|
The first of these, the BT500, is an evolution of the existing BT200 and BT250 models. 30% slimmer than its predecessor and weighing just 20 g, it offers up to 8 hours of talk time or 240 hours of standby time. The LED indicator now shows users charging and battery level, while a dedicated button for pairing has also been introduced. Jabra also claim increased range, faster connections to phones and better audio quality, while also adding the ability to charge the headset through a USB cable. The BT500 should become available in early Q3 2004.
The second model is the BT800, a high-end model positioned above the BT500. This device features a blue backlit LED for caller ID and a jog wheel for menu options. A range of ringtones can be selected, and the headset also includes a vibrating alert. Jabra have incorporated a Digital Signal Processing module to improve audio clarity in noisy environments, adjusting volume levels in response to ambient noise. Furthermore, users can mute the headset with a button press. The BT800 weighs 25 g, ships with Bluetooth 1.2 compatibility, offers 6 hours of talk time and 200 hours of standby. It too will be available in early Q3.
Finally, the BT110 is an entry-level headset, providing 15 hours of talk time with a single AAA battery. It includes an auto power-down feature to help conserve battery life, and Jabra aim at compatibility by offering both headset and handsfree profiles. Like all Jabra headsets, the BT110 includes the Minigel ear pads, and this model weighs 26 g including battery. Features include voice dialling and acceptance / rejection of incoming calls. It will be available early Q3 2004.
