Siemens launches S65By Anthony Newman, Wednesday 17 March 2004
1.3 MP digital still and video camera, 32 MB memory, tri-band GSM, colour screen and Bluetooth round out the S65, the new business handset from Siemens.

Today at CeBIT 2004, Siemens Mobile launches the high performance S65 business-class mobile phone. The first Siemens handset with a 1.3 MP integrated video camera, the triband S65 offers a full suite of business software, a 65k high-resolution color display and 32MB of memory.

The S65 includes a 1.3 Megapixel digital camera, which features a 4x digital zoom and the ability to record video at 15 fps. Videos and pictures can be displayed on the 16-bit TFT screen, which runs at a resolution of 132 x 176 pixels. A flash attachment is available for the camera for night use.

The tri-band (900/1800/1900 MHz) GSM S65 includes GPRS, Bluetooth for headsets and wireless synchronisation with Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes and other PIM packages. The S65 also includes an exchangeable 32 MB memory card.

The S65 weighs a middle-weight 98 g and measures 109 x 4 x 18 mm, and will be available in silver when it is launched in Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America in Q3 2004. Siemens claim up to 250 hours of standby time or 6 hours of talk-time from the S65.
