Sagem unveils myX3-2, myC-3b, myX-7By Anthony Newman, Wednesday 10 March 2004
Trio of new handsets cover low-end, female and media-led markets with colour screens throughout.

French manufacturer Sagem has recently announced three new mobile phones. The first of these is the myX3-2, a candybar handset featuring a 12-bit (4096 colour) colour screen with a resolution of 101 x 80 pixels. The compact device (100 x 45 x 21 mm, 89 g) can store 1500 contacts and features vibrating alert, speakerphone and downloadable Java game support. It also offers polyphonic ringtones, WAP 1.2 support and MMS. The MyX3-2 also features changeable front and back covers.

The Sagem myX3-2 is available as a dual-band 900/1800 MHz GSM phone with GPRS; a version tagged the myX3-2a will be available for the American market with an 850/1900 MHz GSM module. The handset is rated at 5 hours of talk-time or 14 days of standby.

Next up is the Sagem myC-3b, a jewel-case-feminine handset, aiming to introduce a sensual and colourful touch to the Sagem range. Its design and bright ruby-red colour strive to make this new clamshell a trendy device. The myC-3b has 1.5 MB of storage space, and offers personalisation through ringtones and wallpapers.

Finally, there is the Sagem myX-7, the new flagship handset for the brand. This phone features a large 16-bit (65,536-colour) screen and a VGA digital camera capable of recording both still images and video into the device's 4 MB of built-in memory.

The camera supports digital zoom, and images can be sent via MMS. Other features include support for Java games, polyphonic ringtones and GPRS. Personalisation is offered through wallpapers, screensavers, ringtones and changeable covers.
