Vodafone teams up with DisneyBy Anthony Newman, Monday 1 March 2004
Walt Disney Internet Group today announced a global distribution agreement with Vodafone to provide Disney Mobile services to Vodafone live! customers in 14 international markets. Today's announcement makes Disney Mobile content available to millions of Vodafone live! customers in the following markets: Australia; Egypt; Germany; Greece; Hungary; Ireland; Italy; Malta; The Netherlands; New Zealand; Portugal; Spain; Sweden and Switzerland.

Disney will produce a broad range of mobile entertainment content, including logos, wallpapers, animated wallpapers, MMS and Java Games, that will be offered to Vodafone live! customers. The content will be based both on Disney's classic characters and its latest feature animation and live-action movies, such as Disney/Pixar's "Finding Nemo" and Walt Disney Pictures' "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl." The Disney Mobile content will be optimized for preview and selection through "Vodafone live!" enabled handsets.

Walt Disney Internet Group and Vodafone's relationship began in October 2001 with the launch of the Disney Mobile service on J-Phone in Japan (that service has recently been rebranded to Vodafone live!).
