The company behind the Jabra FreeSpeak announces range of Bluetooth headsets for use with both mobiles and desk phones.
GN Netcom, which sells headsets under both its own name and the Jabra brand, has announced the availability of two new Bluetooth headsets that boast a unique selling point: usability with both Bluetooth mobile phones and as headsets with desk phones.

The DuoLink 6110 and 6210 (not to be confused with the Nokia phones of the same name) can pair with two devices, allowing both a mobile phone and an analogue or digital desk phone to be usable with the headset in quick succession. The desk phone is connected to a Bluetooth base station for connection to the DuoLink, while the base also functions as a charger for the set. Whichever phone rings, the user can answer using the headset.

Dialling operates intelligently: if the base station is nearby, the DuoLink will place the call through the landline, while when on the move the call will go through the mobile phone. This allows seamless use of two lines with the same headset. Use on the move is facilitated by the inclusion of a travel charger, in addition to the base station.
The 6110 offers a compact folding boom design for use with both ears, a talktime of four hours, standby of up to a week and will retail at $299 USD, while the 6210 takes the behind-the-ear form-factor of the popular Jabra FreeSpeak headsets, offering 100 hours of standby or four hours of talktime. No pricing has yet been set for the 6210.
