Motorola debuts new gadgetBy Anthony Newman, Friday 9 January 2004
Motorola's HF800 portable wireless speaker offers hands-free speakerphone functionality for any Bluetooth device capable of connecting by means of the Handsfree profile.

Motorola has unveiled the latest addition to its Bluetooth portfolio: the new HF800 Portable Wireless Speaker. The Motorola HF800 Portable Wireless Speaker is a compact accessory that can act as a hands-free speakerphone or wireless headset jack when connected to any compatible Bluetooth enabled device up to a 10-meter range.

Another use for Bluetooth emerges
The ultra-compact Motorola HF800 Portable Wireless Speaker features a one-Watt speaker that Motorola claim delivers clear, crisp sound quality by using sophisticated echo and noise reduction technology.

In use, the carrier pushes the multifunction button to answer, end, and initiate calls and perform three-way calling and call hold functions, while they can push the Mute button to mute and unmute calls. The speaker’s battery life allows for a talk time of up to three hours and standby time of up to 100 hours. Additionally, the Motorola HF800 Portable Wireless Speaker uses the same travel and car chargers as most compatible Motorola phones.

Additionally, the HF800 stores device-pairing information and wirelessly interacts with up to eight different Bluetooth 1.1-compliant devices, including handsets, PDA’s and computers.
