TextAmerica, American children have found another way to utilise the now-ubiquitous camera-phone in the run-up to Christmas.

An increasing number of youngsters are spending their time taking photos of themselves with products in stores to compile photo-wishlists for family members and friends to look at.

This extends the concept of a wishlist popularised by online stores some years ago, where users add products to a virtual list for other browsers to look at.

Camera phones have bolstered another new internet trend of photo-blogging, where people post pictures to their online diaries from a connected handset throughout the day. However, the devices have also been lambasted for their potential security and privacy implications, with South Korea recently implementing a mandatory notification beep and some employers banning handsets with integrated cameras.">

According to the web site TextAmerica, American children have found another way to utilise the now-ubiquitous camera-phone in the run-up to Christmas.

An increasing number of youngsters are spending their time taking photos of themselves with products in stores to compile photo-wishlists for family members and friends to look at.
