A new wireless card for Sony's CLIE line will be available soon.
The world's first Memory Stick 802.11b card has been slated for a launch date of December 1st 2003, just in time for the holiday buying season. The card, which is designed by Hagiwara Sys-Com, is compatible with all CLIEs running Palm OS 5, unlike Sony's own wireless card, which in its Compact Flash form-factor will not work with the majority of the CLIE line.
Priced at $129.95 USD, the HNT-MSW1 is also cheaper than Sony's own wireless card, and comes with a one-year warranty.
Features include 128-bit WEP for added security, and full compatibility with the 802.11b Wi-Fi specification. With the card, users can HotSync, access the internet and check their e-mail.
No dimensions have yet been published for the card, which draws its power directly from the Memory Stick slot.
