Since MSN changed the protocol for its Messenger service on October 15th, owners of Smartphone 2002 devices such as the Orange SPV line, MiTAC Mio 8380, Motorola MPx200 and more have been left out in the cold when it comes to using the in-built Messenger client.
Lucky users of the Samsung SPH-i600 smartphone, however, can now smile smugly: their device is the first to receive an update, which is now available from Samsung.
The update, which can be installed either through ActiveSync or over the air, flashes a portion of the handset's ROM to update the Messenger client and restore functionality.
