New consumer phones focus on pictures and music respectively, including a photo album and real-time DJ application.
Philips have released two new handsets in their Fisio line: the Fisio 350, which offers consumers MMS and a photo album, and the Fisio 530, which boasts a variety of music-oriented features.

The Fisio 350, with availability slated before the end of 2003, offers a 12-bit screen for viewing photos and playing java games. The unique selling point of the 350 is its photo library feature, which gives users up to 100 images to add to MMS messages, send with emails, set as backgrounds or use to identify incoming callers. Further images can be taken with the optional VGA camera accessory.
The handset also offers 32 polyphonic ringtones, voice recognition, PIM functionality and a WAP 2.0 browser. Under the hood we find a quoted standby time of 400 hours, 4 hours of talk-time, GPRS Class 10, dual band 900 MHz /1800 MHz GSM, all contained within an 80 g shell, which is available in a range of funky colours.

The Fisio 530 aims to be a music handset, including a feature dubbed 'BeDJ', which is a real-time composer supporting nine-track mixing, multiple instruments and tempos. Tracks created with the program can be shared with friends, used as ringtones or pumped through amplified speakers. To support this DJ-emphasis, Philips are providing exclusive content from world-class DJs with the phone.
Philips have also included MMS, polyphonic ringtone support, J2ME, a hi-fi stereo headset, built-in FM radio, 16-bit 128 x 128 screen and a supplied add-on VGA digital camera accessory, which includes a special night mode. Like the 350, the 530 is dual-band 900 MHz /1800 MHz GSM with Class 10 GPRS and voice recognition.
Excitingly, the 530 boasts a full metal case which weighs just 92 g, available in a range of colours. The handset offers 300 hours of standby and up to 6 hours of talk time. Philips claim availability this Autumn, although no pricing information was available for either handset.
