Vindigo Studios has announced the company's position as the leading developer behind the new MapQuest Mobile Powered by Vindigo, launched by MapQuest on Verizon Wireless. The service will offer consumers MapQuest maps and directions while on-the-go and is currently only available on Verizon Wireless' Get It Now-capable phones.

MapQuest Mobile provides coast-to-coast map coverage, offering mobile users location look-up on interactive maps with pan and zoom functions. Consumers enter their point of departure and destination by typing in the full address, a city, a zip code, or the nearest intersection. The service then offers step-by-step driving directions in a tabbed format. Current directions are downloaded and saved on the phone. Similar to the online service, consumers can also save favourites and recent addresses and calculate reverse directions.">
