Samsung has confirmed that its previously announced SGH-i500 Palm OS smartphone will not be available in the United States this year. Originally slated for a quarter 3 release, the SGH-i500 was the first Palm OS 5 smartphone to be announced. A tri-band GSM/GPRS flip-phone design, the SGH-i500 was designed to run a 300 MHz processor, Palm OS 5.2 with Graffiti 2, J2ME support, and offer an integrated VGA (640 x 480) camera. Samsung has not stated the reason for the delay, nor when it may be available.
