The carrier brings unlimited multiplayer gaming to the U.S. market with the first launch of Nokia's new N-Gage game deck.
Starting October 7, T-Mobile will become the first carrier with U.S. service for Nokia's new and much hyped N-Gage game deck, kicking off a promotion with free wireless game play for 30 days and a combined total of $50 USD worth of free voice and text messaging. Dangling yet more bait, T-Mobile aims to lure buyers with low-price, unlimited wireless gaming also after its introductory offer expires.
The Nokia N-Gage mobile game deck is based on Nokia's Series 60 platform, and features MP3/AAC playback, an integrated stereo FM radio and tri-band GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900 MHz connectivity. The N-Gage will have a suggested retail price of $299 USD with T-Mobile, which includes the device, charger, rechargeable battery, stereo headset, USB cable and the $50 USD value of free T-Mobile service.
Following the expiry of T-Mobile's 30-day trial offer, gamers can sign up for a T-Mobile annual voice plan of their choice and continue throughout 2004 with unlimited access to wireless gaming services for N-Gage at $9.99 USD per month.
Wireless game play on the N-Gage mobile game deck lets gamers wirelessly post best game scores globally, download strategy guides and game cheats and shadow race other N-Gage game deck gamers by downloading a shadow image of a top global gamer's best performance on their screens as they play their own game.
