T-Mobile offers a sneak peek of its next-generation MDA, powered by Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC Phone Edition and sporting tri-band GSM as well as a built-in camera.
In conjunction with celebrating the one-year anniversary for the launch of the mobile network operator's first MDA device, T-Mobile is now offering customers a sneak peek of the as-of-yet-nameless, successor to the T-Mobile MDA. Slated for arrival by the end of this year, T-Mobile is revealing just enough detail about the new device to keep whet the appetite of existing and potential users.

Declining to delve into further detail, T-Mobile promised improvements both to the processor and memory of the upcoming MDA. The display will also be receiving some attention, as this is being upgraded to support 16-bit (65,536) colour yet remains of similar size and resolution as the original MDA - 3.5 inches and 240 x 320 pixels.
To be powered by Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC Phone Edition, the MDA successor will offer a range of improvements over the Pocket PC 2002 Phone Edition powered original MDA. Also new is an integrated digital camera with VGA resolution, which will tie into the MMS capabilities of the device - another new feature over the original MDA, although similar functionality was added to this device in early 2003 by means of a software update.
