A study by chip manufacturer AMD today revealed that consumers are reluctant to buy technology products because they don't understand the terminology.
In the multi-national survey of 1500 consumers, participants were asked to correctly identify technology terms, such as 'megahertz' and 'Bluetooth'. Only 3%
of respondents achieved full marks.
The analysts found that the least knowledgeable participants were the most likely to avoid purchasing technology, with the prime reason being complexity.
However, even the most tech-savvy respondents admit to this
trend: 40% of the top consumers are holding off on PDA purchases for this very reason. Those who already have and use a PC are most likely to graduate
into other technologies.
