Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell is a smash hit on gaming consoles such as Xbox and the PS2, as well as the Windows desktop. Now, Gameloft is bringing it to mobile phones.
For those who just can't get enough of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, Gameloft is now bringing the black-ops game to J2ME-enabled mobile phones as diverse as the Nokia 3140i, Motorola T720, Nokia 7650 and also several BREW-enabled phones. Like the original, Gameloft promises the mobile phone versions will be a mix between stealth and action-filled gameplay.
The player takes on the role of Sam Fisher, the best field-operative of the secretive "black-ops" NSA sub-agency Third Echelon. Sent to execute desperate missions, Sam is the last resort of his government, on the edge of legality and morality.
The game offers 5 levels, all taking place in a secret base in Siberia. Players must take advantage of the environment to sneak behind the lines of the enemy, using their weaponry with extreme care. Detection systems must be avoided and critical intelligence acquired by any means. And although killing may compromise secrecy, the choice between leaving a witness or a corpse is according to Gameloft "no choice at all".
