Oh well, it had to come. AIM Productions is as far as we know the first company to bring a fully featured strip poker game to the world of PDAs.
As if there weren't enough temptations from before to buy a PocketPC, there's now one more (but this is one of the reasons you don't use when telling your girlfriend why you just blew your household budget to get your hands on an iPAQ). Card games are very popular on handhelds of any kind, but we're betting that this little twist might make them even more popular.
Pocket Strip Poker from AIM productions is as far as we know the first ever game of its kind to be released into the world of PDAs, and so it's actually making history as it goes along. We've heard tales about similar services for WAP phones for some time, and it only helps to prove the fact that no matter how, when or where; sex sells.
There's a downside though to all of this, and I'll combine it with a rather amusing but also annoying fact from the world of mobile phones. As you all know, mobile phones were never meant to be waterproof (most of them, anyway), and therefore people have learned not to talk in mobile phones while it's pouring down (we've named it the crackle-zap-silence effect) or in other situations such as when submerged.
It's a rarely known fact though that if you manage to damage your mobile phone by exposing it to moisture or water, most manufacturers and retail outlets won't replace your phone. Sure, if you dropped it down the bowl you had it coming to you, but if you were just wearing it on your inner pocket while going for a jog things are a bit different.
The problem is that the sweat from your body can in some cases be enough to penetrate the protective membranes of the mobile phone, and make it stop working on the spot. If this happens, your warranty will in most cases not help you one bit, because you're not supposed to expose the mobile phone to moisture. So even though you just wore your mobile phone on your inner pocket on a hot day or was running to catch a meeting, you're out of luck.
The moral of this story? Well, PDAs and mobile phones are not all that different, so you'd better not get your Palms toosweaty.
